The Hollywood style wedding at the Monestir de Sant Salvi
When I asked Rob and Karla, what inspired them to create their wedding? They told me they mainly went with the location.
First a very monochromatic white aesthetic, but shortly after the wedding they decided they wanted something that really reflected the location. Karla is a big fan of fantasy and decorating the monastery in the era in which it was designed was appropriate for her. A little Game of Thrones, a little Harry Potter and a lot of drama.
They wanted the entire experience to reflect them as people. Both in grandeur and in simple pleasures.
So they chose an oxblood velvet fabric. The deep Catalan red was a nod to the host country and helped elevate the overall cinematic tone of the day.
The velvet was applied over the two long tables and the DJ booth and created a beautiful texture that flowed seamlessly through the space. Upon entering the church, the guests were surprised to see the lavish
table setting. Which included personalized red leather luggage tags, engraved with each guest's initials on each silver plate, along with a personal photo inside. The tables were adorned with tall silver candelabras, china and crystal glasses. Complemented with burgundy fruits and amaranths.
The whole set, with the contrast of the white of the guests, made the aesthetic result a true fantasy for me, as a photographer.
